Hi everyone, and welcome to Issue #33! Let’s dive into what’s inside this issue.
First up, we have an editorial called “Splash of Attitude” featuring Natalie. This was shot at a very cool pool in Hollywood. We thought it would be fun to use this shirt and have her wet and topless in the pool. It was a beautiful sunny day and the natural light was awesome. Fyi, another fun editorial with this shirt will appear in the fall. This editorial is accompanied by its own video.
Next, we have “The Shape of Motion” with newcomer Mel. This was shot by photographer Huy Doan in a bare apartment in Los Angeles. Nothing in it but a mattress and a red chair. Unknown second model appears as well.
Then, we have “Steamy” with favorite Luci. This was shot at a Los Angeles hotel with a a pretty simple shower, but I thought it would be a good backdrop for Luci to pose and move. Seeing as the shower was in a small bathroom, the light was pretty good. The video is mostly slow motion and Luci’s movements are smooth and wonderful.
Now, let’s explore our articles for this issue—we’ve got another two! “Swipe Right for Love” focuses on how and if dating apps can help people find true love. Then there’s “Sexy Consent Skills.” Here, the article discusses how to respectfully and directly how to go about consent and all it in-tales.
“Summer Stripes” is up next, with returning model, Yulia. Shot in Vienna, Austria by photographer Socathos. We’ve published their work here before and they don’t disappoint. Shot in an apartment with little furniture, some added color with the blue striped socks ads to the film look and great poses by Yulia.
Then, we have “White Sand and Wild Heart” with Anna. This was shot on a Malibu beach and much to our surprise there were lots of kids running around. We were patient and stealth about our shooting and got the shots we wanted. A challenging shoot, but the results on that beautiful and clear Malibu day are great. A video from this shoot is on the website.
Next, we’re diving into “Dive into Her” with Kateryna. This was shot mostly underneath Santa Monica Pier. The way the sun reflects off the wet sand and underside of the pier makes for great lighting. Another busy day at that beach, but we shot around everyone and got this cool shoot with snorkel gear, complete with fins.
Finally, we have “Golden Hour Reading” featuring newcomer Rafy. This editorial was shot a while ago when Rafy was in Los Angeles from London. We shot in my apartment on and by the couch with our first issue and a very cool photography book. Natural light at the right time of day.
Now, take a seat, relax, and enjoy Issue#33! Cheers, Jeff Gottlieb (Editor-In-Chief)
