About
Jeff Gottlieb created Amethyst Magazine out of a lifelong love of photography and a desire for something that felt more intentional. He built his first pinhole camera in sixth grade and never stopped chasing images after that. During the pandemic, when creative people were stuck at home and traditional outlets felt increasingly hollow, the idea for Amethyst took shape—a printed and digital magazine devoted to elevated, uncensored photographic storytelling that celebrates sexy as art, not content.
Amethyst is rooted in editorial storytelling. The magazine is mostly photographs, but never random ones. Each editorial is designed to feel like a small world of its own—seductive, intimate, and visually rich—while still flowing naturally with the rest of the issue. Gottlieb serves as lead photographer and producer, working closely with creative direction to curate stories that celebrate the female form with taste, confidence, and individuality. Shoots are built as collaborations, where models are invited to bring their own energy, instincts, and expression into the frame, resulting in exclusive content that feels both empowered and intentional.
The vision for Amethyst is simple and deliberate: sexy, art-forward, thoughtfully produced. For Gottlieb, success isn’t measured by spectacle or excess, but by sustainability—making beautiful work, supporting the artists involved, and continuing to shoot in inspiring locations with teams who care about the process as much as the result. Amethyst invites readers to step into a rich visual journey—one rooted in sensual storytelling, strong imagery, and art that feels elevated, intimate, and unapologetically alluring.
